Windows Vista RC1
It is late so I will make this quick. I need to get to bed.
I am posting this from a fresh Vista install. I put a spare hard drive in my computer so I could play around with the latest offering from Microsoft. So far I like it. I havn’t had time to really play with it yet, but it is better than the last release they had. There is a lot of eye candy that really works well. The trade off is the huge amount of system memory and proc that it swallows up.
It occupies roughly 500MB of memory on boot. It’s a good thing I have a gig of ram in this box. It really does need it. I can’t wait to see how it runs on a newer machine with a 64bit proc and double the ram I have. I will post more later as I get to play with it more.
Gone in 59 Seconds
At Wednesday Night Live we played a movie we made the night before the youth went to Fine Arts. This years movie was a spoof from the movie Gone in 60 Seconds. We had a lot of fun making it, and I though it turned out really well. It featured two of the Junior High youth as the main characters stealing the cars. It was very funny to watch two twelve year olds stealing cars, Alex and Brad.
Hopefully we’ll make a DVD out of it. I would love to have a copy. It got a great reaction from the group. It got a good round of applause. Well, I’m off to bed. If there’s a DVD made available I’ll post more about it later.
The Judgement
I am looking forward to the Judgement this year. Last year was absolutely awesome. There was such a huge reaction to what we did and this year is going to be bigger and better than ever. From what I understand we have the cast picked and they’re starting to do their rehearsals. Check out the video of last years to get an idea of what we’re doing.

Computer Power Issues
I think I may have fixed my computer now. It was having some serious problems with the video stuff. It just seemed like it might be a power problem. It was very interesting what it was doing.
Ryan suggested I take the computer completely apart and reasemble it to varify all of the connections are good. In doing so I found two things that could have caused the video problem. There is a clip on the back side of the AGP slot. The video card was not seated all the way to the point where that clip fully engages. It was just barely not clipped all the way in like it should be.
The other issue had to do with the power leads from the power supply. There are two leads from the power supply that have several power connections on each one. I believe that in hooking up power to the fan controller I had them crossed over each other. I’m not the smartest guy around but I can’t imagine that to be a good thing.
After fixing those things it booted right up and didn’t complain at all when I changed my resolution to 1600×1200 again. We’ll see how long it lasts this time.
