Idiots and War

July 26, 2006 at 5:27 pm (Random Thoughts)

This could also have been titled “Stupid Liberals and War”, but I felt that was a little too redundant.

I heard this on the radio today. This lady had obviously seen way to many made for TV movies about war protesters. In these movies they go out link arms sing songs of love and keep the big bad tanks from blowing stuff up. The evil war mongers realize they are not being good little boys and see the compassion of these war protesters and decide to stop all war. Everyone lives happily ever after and the people that made the evil tank drivers stop get medals pinned on them.

Well, this lady had the bright idea of trying to get an Israeli tank to stop by laying in the road in front of it, because this would abviously make the tank stop. They would not want to hurt anyone. The tank proceded to carry out it’s mission with no heed to the woman laying in front of it. Now we have one less war protester.

I don’t know what she was thinking, but that stuff doesn’t work in real life. They have a mission to carry out. Their buddies are being shot at. They don’t have time to stop and ask a stupid moron to kindly get out of the way. It is war so people die. Not all of the people that die are members of a military force as she must have realized as the tank was inches from her body, and not slowing down. I can’t help but wonder what was going through her mind, other than her stomach.

A Soldiers Promise

July 18, 2006 at 5:44 pm (Random Thoughts)

I was listening to the G. Gordon Liddy Show the other day and heard him interviewing an author of a new book. He does this frequently, and most of the time they sound very interesting. This time I came home and bought the book.

I recommend checking it out. With all of the press covering all of the bad stuff in Iraq it’s good to hear a story like this. It’s good to know that there are some good people doing good things over there in spite of the evil terrorist scum. Please note that I did not call them insurgents. They are terrorists.

The book is titled “A Soldiers Promise” as the title of this post suggests. It was written by Sgt. Daniel Hendrex. This is the story of a soldier in Iraq. A fourteen year old Iraqi kid approaches one of the soldiers in his group and says simply, “Arrest me.” Jamil tells them that he has valuable information about the terrorist activity in the area and he would like to help the Americans. This is the story of how he helps Dragon Company at the expense of his country, his home, and his family.

Happy Fourth of July

July 4, 2006 at 7:14 am (Random Thoughts)

It is once again the birthday of our great country. I am proud to be a citizen of the greatest nation that exists on the globe today. We are fortunate to enjoy the freedoms that many of us take for granted. Join with me, take a moment and look around you. Take a moment to appreciate what has been given you by the men and women of our armed forces over the last two hundred years.

God bless the United States of America.

Main Street Fire

June 15, 2006 at 5:01 pm (Random Thoughts)

I left for work this morning and quickly noticed a large amount of smoke on the horizon. From where I was on Highway 96, I wasn’t even up to Rucker Lane yet, there was a huge amount of smoke coming from somewhere near downtown. The stream of smoke probably stretched about five or six miles across the sky.

As I got closer it looked like it was coming from The Room in the Inn, which is a local shelter that helps people who are for whatever reason homeless. I tried to get closer do that I could take a picture but they had it pretty well blocked off.

This afternoon on my way home from work, I was happy to find out that it was not The Room in the Inn. It was a music shop a couple doors up the street. Here is a story written by the Daily News Journal.
